Do you know that you can update your Galaxy Note 2 to latest Lollipop Android 5.1.1 OS? Yes, you can, even though an OTA isn’t available for your smartphone. So, how is that possible? Well, by learning how to flash a stable and smooth custom ROM firmware of course. In that respect, during the following guidelines I will teach you everything about the new release of Resurrection Remix platform, a great update based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS which can now be also installed on your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100.

Download samsung note 2 drivers

Therefore, if you want to change something on your phone and most important if you want to improve the performances of your Note 2, then you defenetely have to try the new built of Resurrection Remix custom ROM. The firmware, which brings Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS in front of everything, is also pre loaded with features that cannot be found on the default version of the Lollipop system. Well, all these new capabilities will optimize and customize the internal system of your Galaxy Note 2, thus in the end you will be able to receive more power and enjoy better speeds on your device.

Bottom line, with this Lollipop 5.1.1 firmware installed, your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will run better and faster. Moreover, the battery life will be upgraded and the RAM consumption optimized so that you will be able to smoothly experience all the latest apps and programs from Google Play. As for the other features that will be added, you need to know that Resurrection Remix is in fact a mix of custom ROMs, which is powered by Paranoid Android, Omni, Slim, CyanogenMod and AOKP.

As you can see, this custom ROM might just be perfect for your Galaxy Note 2. The Android 5.1.1 OS is stable and runs without bugs and lags, thus you can experience a great Lollipop software without using an OTA or an official Android release. However, as you can already tell, the update process will not be an official operation, thus this step by step guide can be completed and should be completed only in certain conditions – all these conditions are being detailed during the following list of tasks.

Samsung Note 2 Update Download
  • You have to root your Galaxy Note 2 as a custom ROM, such as Resurrection Remix can be installed only on an unlocked Android device – the Lollipop firmware must access, optimize, customize and modify in built features and processes, thus the Android system must be rooted.
  • You need to install a custom recovery image, like CWM or TWRP recovery, on your Note 2 – the custom ROM comes in form of a .zip file, which can be flashed only through a custom recovery image.
  • These are unofficial operations, therefore, by completing them you will lose your phone’s warranty – if your phone gets bricked while you perform these processes, you won’t be able to reclaim the warranty, so most likely you will have to try to manually fix your bricked Android device.
  • During the update operation you will have to hard reset your phone and you will also have to clear cache (further details are offered during the proper update tutorial from below). Therefore, consider in making a backup in order to temporarily save your personal data, info and accounts.
  • In that respect, I recommend you to save contacts, call logs, text messages, IMEI/ NVRAM, images, videos, audio files, EFS folder, internet settings and market apps.
  • It is possible to find the Resurrection Remix inappropriate for your Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Thus, for avoiding unpleasant situations, make a Nandroid backup first – in this way you will be able to easily downgrade to stock Android firmware in the end.
  • Charge your Note 2 before doing anything else, as if your device remains without power while you try to update its system, a soft brick might get issued. Thus, plug in the charger if the power left is lower than 60%.

Samsung Note 2 Update Download For Windows 7

Good; so now you know what you have to do before proceeding to the next steps. Also, keep in mind that this is a manual update procedure so for being able to install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS on your own Samsung Galaxy Note 2, first you will have to ensure that you can use a computer. On this computer you should temporarily turn off security protection as antivirus and other similar tools might interfere with your work. Also, you should gain developer rights and enable USB debugging on your phone – in order to do so, tap several times on built number (within “menu – settings – about phone”) and then check the USB Debugging field located under “menu – settings – developer options”.

Don’t forget that this step by step guide is compatible only with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 model number N7100. Other than that, stay close to the guidelines from below and try not to mess things up.
